At a press event that Sony did in Las Vegas they announced the release of their newest toy. The Alpha A7s brings 4K video to complete their full-frame mirrorless line of cameras. The addition of the letter s to the end is claimed to be the introduction to their newest line of extra sensitive models. This new line supports an ISO range from 50 all the way to 4K, which is 409,600. This new camera boasting a 12.2 megapixel sensor limits the down scaling of their 4K video to 3,840×2,160. What this means is you can get a higher quality film out of your camera now. Though the camera has the ability to easily store 1080p video locally, to get access to store 4K video you will need to have an external recorder to enable this function. The camera will output though HDMI with a color sampling of 4:2:2.
