Leading Through Transition

My career trajectory—from 22 years of technical experience to leading infrastructure teams—has required constant adaptation. Leadership is about guiding a team through these transitions, ensuring that everyone is aligned on the technical roadmap and understands the “why” behind the infrastructure changes.

Change management is the hardest part of IT leadership. People are comfortable with the status quo, even if it is inefficient. As a leader, I have to demonstrate the value of the new approach before I force the change. I do this by building prototypes, documenting results, and communicating clearly. I apply these same leadership principles to my own life. Transitioning from a purely technical role to an entrepreneurial one, like launching my MSP, requires the same skills: managing risk, setting expectations, and maintaining momentum. Leadership is about moving forward with a clear vision, regardless of the complexity of the technology underneath.
