The Art of the IT Migration
Migrations fail because of poor planning, not just technical issues. As an IT Infrastructure Team Lead, I have spent years refining the methodology for system overhauls—from the initial planning and procurement phase to the final deployment and post-implementation support. You cannot just “wing” a migration. You need a deep understanding of your infrastructure, including tools like Proxmox or VMware, and a clear plan for the rollback if things go wrong. A successful migration is invisible; it is the result of meticulous preparation, clear stakeholder communication, and a rigorous execution strategy that prioritizes business continuity above all else.
