The Ethics of the C.E.T.
As a Certified Engineering Technician (C.E.T.), I hold myself to a code of ethics and a standard of technical engineering that defines my career. Clients don’t always know what they need, and it is my professional responsibility to guide them toward the right, ethical, and sustainable solutions.
Technical ethics are about more than just “doing it right.” It’s about honesty in pricing, transparency in security, and refusing to build “technical debt” into a client’s environment just to make a quick sale. My engineering background ensures that I approach infrastructure with a focus on long-term stability rather than short-term fixes. When I recommend a storage solution or a backup protocol, I do so based on engineering principles. This commitment to ethics is a differentiator. In an unregulated IT market, being a C.E.T. signals to my clients that I am held to a higher standard of competence and accountability.
